The Office of the Provost is pleased to announce that it has secured The Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro, MD for its May 4, 2014 Commencement exercises. Friday night Consecration service, the Sabbath morning Baccalaureate, and other departmental ceremonies will continue on the WAU, Takoma Park campus. Commencement weekend for the class of 2014 is May 2 – May 4.

As usual, the University will host its traditional commencement ceremony following the conclusion of the spring semester. Diplomas will also continue to be issued at the end of the summer session and the fall semester, although no ceremonies will take place at those times.

Students who will be within six credits of completing their degrees at the conclusion of the Spring 2014 semester may petition to participate in this year’s commencement. All such petitions should be submitted to the Office of the Registrar no later than March 14, 2014. Ten Tickets will be provided for the participants. 

GRADUATION TICKET INFORMATION:

Graduation tickets and Blue Cards are available for pick up on Tuesday, April 29 and Wednesday, April 30 (requires signature and student ID).

  • For SGPS students, please see Viola Battle in SGPS.
  • For Traditional students, please see Accounting Services on the first floor in Wilkinson Hall.

A Request form can be filled out for extra tickets (maximum of 5) available to be placed in a drawing at Rehearsal on Thursday evening, May 1.

Note: When picking up your graduation tickets, you may also pick up your blue card if the requirements for release of the Blue Card have been completed.

Release of Blue Card Requirements:

  • -          Account balance must be zero.

 

  • -          If student has received Subsidized / Unsubsidized Stafford Loans, student must complete an exit interview for those loans at www.studentloans.gov

 

  • -          If student has received a Perkins Loan, student must complete an exit interview for those loans (See Student Financial Services for instructions).

 

-        Note: Bring a printout of your exit interview completion when picking up your blue card if the exit interview was completed the same day as you are picking up the blue card.

 

• Graduation Fees: $85 Contract fee and $150 Senior Class fee
