Empowered to Serve!
April 12-14 will be Washington Adventist University’s 109th homecoming celebration.This year's theme is “Empowered to Serve”. Embracing the University’s motto of service, the weekend will highlight how the University empowers students to live a life of service.
The featured speaker for the weekend is Pastor Damon Hendrickson, class of 2002. His life of service includes several pastoral positions in his home of Bermuda, as well as serving as the Associate Director and Director of Youth Ministries, and currently serving as Associate Media Director for the Bermuda Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
The weekend’s festivities will celebrate the former and current students who are actively engaged in lives service and the University's growth and improvements to ensure future generations of students will be empowered to serve. Some highlights of the weekend include the dedication of WAU’s student missionaries, the unveiling of the new University Dining Hall and Student Recreation space, and the annual Alumni Awards Banquet honoring this yea'rs Alumni of the Year Dr. Charles McMillan, Director of the Los Alamos Laboratory.
