Zdravko Plantak (Chair) holds Ph. D. in Christian Ethics and Social Theology from King’s College, University of London. He teaches Christian Ethics and Contemporary Society, Seminar in Contemporary Theology, Theology and Principles of Interpretation, Faith Seeking Understanding: Christian Doctrines, Christian Spiritual Formation (team-teaching) and Philosophy of Religion and supervises Ministerial Externships and Practicum in Ministry classes and numerous graduate courses in Ethics and Theology. His more than ten years of pastoral ministry in the large exciting metropolitan area of London brings pastoral experience and Adventist scholarship into united and vibrantly inseparable union. During Dr Plantak’s term of leadership at the Department of Religion at WAU (former CUC), new programs have been developed and implemented such as Metropolitan Ministry Concentrations in Theology and Religion, a new degree in Philosophy and Religion, and a new Masters of Arts in Religion in three concentrations: Ethical Leadership, Clinical Pastoral Education, and Metropolitan Ministry. Ordained minister; member of the Sligo Seventh-day Adventist Church; preaches in various local, national, and international venues; conducts weddings and funerals; provides counseling for students at WAU as well as members of the Sligo church; frequent presenter in Sabbath School; active in local church committees; leads out in tour and cruises with evangelistic, pastoral, and academic perspectives; involved in community services as member of the Service Day planning committee at WAU; presenter and co-organizer in the NAD Nonprofit Leadership Certification Program; member of the General Conference International Board of Ministerial and Theological Education; member of the board of the Russian Bible Translation Institute; founding member of the Society of Adventist Philosophers; member and former president of the Adventist Society for Religious Studies; member of the Society of Biblical Literature; etc.
