Washington Adventist University is doing all it can fiscally to support Christian education within the Columbia Union. This spring, we offered Columbia Union academy graduates scholarships totaling over 6.1 million dollars, over a four period, to attend WAU. Representatives of the University were present at every Columbia Union academy graduation ceremony to announce and present these scholarships. This is a demonstration of how much we value Christian education by helping parents and students bridge the gap between what they can afford and the cost of private higher education.
Spirituality at WAU
Transforming lives continues to be a consistent focus of the WAU experience. Early reports from the Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, mission trip indicates that just fewer than 900 persons have been baptized. A record 50,000 individuals attended Sabbath services. This mission trip is being led by our VP for Ministry, Dr. Muganda. Students are sharing the good news of Jesus and experiencing how His love can change lives. We hear that Washington Adventist University is now a household name in Tanzania. In May 2012, students were also involved in a mission trip to Moscow, Russia. At WAU students get an opportunity to experience mission service locally and internationally.
