The Summer Teaching Institute at Washington Adventist University (WAU) offers certification preparation and professional development courses for pre-service teachers and teachers seeking certification, and continuing education credits.

The program, designed to provide quality learning expericence for students from diverse backgrounds, meets requirements for certification with the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists and the Maryland State Department of Education.

The summer sessions are organized to provide choices in meeting personal and professional needs. For example, both one-week and two-week course sessions are available. Special seminars that offer opportunities for developing new skills and education perspectives are also included in the curriculum. Please note, course scheduling is designed to accommodate those attending the General Conference session June 23-July 3.
