Biography:

A native of India, Dr. Manuel has worked for over thirty-five years in Adventist institutions of higher learning in India, Singapore, and Thailand as an educator, dean, department chair, and classroom instructor. She joined Washington Adventist University as Professor of English and Associate Director for The Betty Howard Center for Student Success in 2007. She has published literary articles, essays, and poetry in many scholarly journals.

Current Research or Professional Activities:

Dr. Manuel conducts seminars and workshops on learning strategies and academic success. She is passionate about student achievement and encourages and promotes academic excellence on campus and currently is the primary sponsor of the Washington Adventist University Chapter of the Phi Eta and Alpha Chi National Honor Societies. Her research interest includes technology and teaching writing.
