Born in Antelope, Montana, Mary Louise Richardson was raised in New Market, Virginia. After graduating from Richmond Academy in 1947, Mary Louise attended Washington Missionary College.
Following her graduation from WMC in 1954 Mary Louise accepted a secretarial position at the New York Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in Syracuse, New York. Mary Louise impressed her boss with her high quality of work. Proof of this came when Mary Louise’s boss accepted a position at the Potomac Conference in Staunton, Virginia, in 1959 and called her to assist him at his new post.
After ten years of working for the Potomac Conference, Mary went to the General Conference where she worked in Adventist Laymen’s Service and Industries and in the Health Department. In 1978, Mary Louise moved to South Lancaster, Massachusetts, to work in the treasury department of the Southern New England Conference, where she completed her long career of service to the Adventist Church.
In her leisure time she enjoyed traveling around the United States and in Europe.
After Mary Louise’s death in 1989 the endowment fund was established in her name from her estate.
