Washington Adventist University (WAU), a private, faith-based, accredited institution of higher learning is located near the nation’s capital in scenic and historic Takoma Park, Maryland. WAU has been serving the community’s educational needs since 1904. Its School of Graduate and Professional Studies (SGPS) was established over 35 years ago to provide a flexible educational experience to help students complete their degrees and maximize career opportunities.
Enrolling in the General Studies Bachelor of Science degree will place you on an accelerated pathway to degree completion. Each class is offered one evening a week in an eight-week session providing you with the opportunity to complete your degree in as little as 18 to 24 months. With small class sizes, our faculty who are experts in their fields of study are able to provide the personalized attention that allows you to thrive and achieve success.
The WAU and LCC partnership provides students with the opportunity to complete their first two years at LCC through Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) or Howard Community College (HCC). Students are also able to transfer credits from any other accredited college/university. The third and fourth years of the bachelor’s degree would be completed through WAU. The Bachelor of Science in General Studies offers students in-depth academic programming in communication or health care administration.
