Dual Enrollment Program

What is WAU Dual Enrollment Program?

Washington Adventist University will grant college credit to high school students for approved courses taught at participating SDA academies, private schools, public high schools, and homeschoolers or taken directly from WAU.

It’s a way for students, often juniors or seniors in high school to get a head start on college by enrolling in classes that count toward both their high school diploma and a future college degree.

Become a Partner at WAU

Washington Adventist University welcomes partnerships with academies that share our mission of empowering students through early access to higher education. Through the Dual Enrollment Program, qualified high school students can earn college credits while completing their secondary education.

Step 1. Express Interest: Reach out to our Dual Enrollment team to begin the discovery phase. We’ll connect with your academy to identify available courses, faculty qualifications, and the most suitable instructional modality (on-site or online). Email: prefreshman@wau.edu.

Step 2. Faculty & Course Assessment: Our team will coordinate with your academy to verify faculty credentials and availability. Courses may be taught by WAU faculty or by academy instructors approved by WAU through a credential review process. Each course must meet WAU’s academic and accreditation standards.

Step 3. Dual Enrollment Agreement: Once approved, WAU will issue a formal Dual Enrollment Agreement outlining course offerings, responsibilities, and timelines. The agreement must be signed and returned by the specified deadline to finalize the partnership.

Step 4. Student Registration & Payment: Academy coordinators will assist students in completing the WAU online application and registration process. Tuition or program fees must be submitted to WAU’s Student Accounts Office prior to the start of classes.

Step 5. Classroom Access: Students enrolled in courses taught by WAU faculty will receive access to WAU’s learning management system (D2L). Account setup instructions and class details will be provided at least two weeks before classes begin.
