How to Apply for Funding and Assistance
WAU encourages applicants to apply for financial aid. To be considered, you must submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by visiting https://studentaid.gov/. WAU’s School Code is 002067. The FAFSA will enable WAU’s Student Financial Aid office to consider all types of need-based aid. Student Financial Aid reviews the family financial circumstances of each admitted student and determines financial need based on information supplied by the FAFSA.
The FAFSA is available on October 1 and requires information from an earlier tax year. FAFSA applicants (and their parents, if appropriate) must report the prior year’s income information. For the 2024-2025 school year, applicants (and their parents, if applicable) must report income information for 2022. (See table.) For the 2023-2024 school year, applicants (and their parents, if appropriate) must report income information for 2021. (See table.)

If you have not yet filed your prior year taxes (2022 for the 2024-2025 school year and 2021 taxes for the 2023-2024 school year), you can complete the Federal Student Aid Estimator. With this tool, students can find out how much federal student aid they may be eligible for in the 2024–25 award year.
