Dr. Michael Lee is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at WAU. His background includes work on nontraditional database systems, such as the SAND (Spatial And Nonspatial Data) Database System, and also computer graphics, which has led to several visualization apps for smartphones.
Research and Professional Activities:
His research includes multidimensional techniques for spatial modeling and constant-time navigation within virtual environments.
Dr. Lee's work has resulted in a patent on indexing and modeling techniques which improve the analysis and visualization of large data sets, support multiresolution models with variable levels of detail, and allow rendering highly complex structures in 3D.
