Greetings Friend:

Vision 2020 – Growing with Excellence is the initiative Washington Adventist University (WAU) has adopted to reflect our transformative journey to grow the university into a thriving and distinctive institution of higher education, defined by excellence in all that we do. Vision 2020 will guide us to ensure student success, grow strong relevant academic programs, collaborate with K-12 institutions, infuse internships across the curriculum, grow enrollment, increase the use of technology in content delivery, and continually measure our organization for efficiency and effectiveness.

We are seeking your partnership to make Vision 2020 – Growing with Excellence a reality. This packet will introduce you to major giving priorities of Vision 2020 that will support our students and our campus’s growth to meet the needs of 21st-century higher education.

The major priorities are:

  1. Student Scholarships – The heart of WAU are the students. The university provides millions of dollars in academic and need-based scholarships, but many students still have a challenge affording their education.

  2. Health Professions and Wellness Building – Envisioned as the new home of the university’s four health professions departments, a collaboration with like-minded organizations and the community, the facility will provide a vibrant opportunity for the holistic development of individuals though education, health, and wellness.

  3. Music Center, Phase Two – The Phase Two expansion is a 250+ seat performance center for the university’s four internationally renowned performance organizations. The expansion will connect to the current Leroy and Lois Peters Music Center to facilitate the practice, teaching, and study of the performing arts, integrating performance and curriculum for students.

Vision 2020 will require a visionary community that is synchronized and aligned behind a commitment to produce graduates who bring competence and moral leadership to their communities worldwide. Your support is vital to the success of the university and the success of our students. Every dollar given makes a difference to every student on our campus.

Join us on our journey, Growing with Excellence, and help us see Vision 2020 fulfilled for a future that benefits our students, our faculty, and our community. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.

This is Washington Adventist University.
