Greetings Friend:

Vision 2020 – Growing with Excellence is the Washington Adventist University (WAU) initiative that reflects our transformative journey to grow the university into a thriving and distinctive institution of higher education, defined by excellence in all that we do. Vision 2020 has guided us to ensure student success, grow strong relevant academic programs, collaborate with K‐12 institutions, infuse internships across the curriculum, grow enrollment, increase the use of technology in content delivery, and continually measure our organization for efficiency and effectiveness.

You can help make Vision 2020 – Growing with Excellence a reality as we move to the next decade. This sponsorship packet highlights the major giving priorities of Vision 2020 that supports our students and our campus’s growth to meet the needs of 21st‐century higher education.

The major priorities are:

  1. A new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Laboratory Building – We are in the planning phase of launching a campaign to renovate the building that houses our biology, physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science and medical laboratory science programs. The estimated cost of this project is in the range of $10M ‐ $13M.

  2. Student Scholarships You know that students are the heart of any university. It’s no different at Washington Adventist University. WAU provides millions of dollars in academic and need‐based scholarships, and with an anticipated increase in enrollment this fall, we expect to continue helping students who face challenges in paying for their education. On average, a student receives about $7,500 per year in institutional scholarship funds to attend school.

Vision 2020 has required a visionary community that is synchronized and aligned behind a commitment to produce graduates who bring competence and moral leadership to their communities worldwide. Your continued support is vital to the success of the university and the success of our students. Every dollar you give makes a difference!

I welcome you on our continued journey, Growing with Excellence. Help fulfill Vision 2020 for a future that benefits our students, our faculty, and our community. And as always, thank you for your prayers and support.

This is Washington Adventist University.
