In one program, 10 WAU students are paired with students from Takoma Academy, an affiliate high school, to mentor them through the college application process and work alongside them in community service activities.

Overall, 30 WAU students and 10 mentees have participated in more than 200 hours of community service, including working with the Adventist Community Services of Greater Washington Job Quest program, helping to organize and distribute Thanksgiving baskets, and collecting canned goods and coats for families in need.

In December, FGAP students worked with the Washington Humane Society, providing treats for the animals and helping clean up the shelter and its immediate environment.
