Introducing WAU’s New Chaplain: Jason R. Dietz
Pastor Jason has a broad background of experience and education, which has prepared him to serve and lead in mission and ministry as the chaplain at Washington Adventist University.
He is a graduate of Southern Adventist University with an undergraduate degree in Theology and a minor in Biblical languages. He will also graduate this semester with a master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI.
He loves people and describes himself as a “highly committed servant leader who enjoys building and maintaining meaningful, Christ-centered relationships.” In addition to having experience in pastoral ministry, Pastor Jason has also worked in youth ministry, as the regional youth director for the Pennsylvania Conference, and as a Chaplain for academy age young people.
Prior to these ministry engagements, he was a Special Operations Team Leader as an Army Ranger in the US Army.
As a pastor, he considers himself to be a team builder and a collaborative leader, with the goal of connecting with students, staff, and faculty helping them maintain holistic life balance, and providing spiritual connection and support.
Pastor Jason is married to Simonique Dietz, who is a ministry partner, a mom, and a Digital Producer. She has recently graduated with a degree in journalism and digital media. They have two girls of early elementary age, and they enjoy spending time together as a family in active pursuits.
Jason brings more than 12 years of experience in multiple areas of ministry and a track record of successful leadership and collaboration, but most importantly, a profound belief in and relationship with Jesus Christ.
