The Washington Adventist University (WAU) community celebrated its annual Dedication Sabbath at Sligo Seventh-day Adventist Church, Saturday, September 8. Scores of students, faculty and staff attended the worship service, symbolizing renewed commitment to the mission, vision, and core values of the University.
“WAU Sabbath at Sligo was beyond an amazing experience,” said Regina Johnson, Chaplain of Ministry. “God most definitely spoke to us and seeing so many students, faculty and staff on one accord was wonderful.”
The 2012-2013 academic year officially got underway, September 5, at Washington Adventist University, with the staging of Opening Convocation by the Office of President in Sligo Seventh-day Adventist Church. Administrators, faculty, staff and students packed the church to mark the beginning of a year filled with promise for the 108 year old Takoma Park campus.
Washington Adventist University (WAU) welcomed the class of 2016 with its traditional Gateway ceremony and dinner held in the dining hall and on the commons, August 28. The refurbished dining hall with its shiny new furniture provided the perfect backdrop for the ceremony welcoming the freshman class.
