It’s been a long year of planning and preparing for this moment, but we are finally proud to say, ‘Welcome back to Washington Adventist University!’ This week, our returning sophomores, new freshman, and transfer students have been experiencing all of what WAU has to offer through our Student Orientation Week. From exciting team-building activities like the Ropes Course, experiencing the culture of D.C. and the wealth of service opportunities the city has to offer, to meeting new people and making new friendships, this week is to prepare WAU students to start the Fall semester off strong.
We have an incredible amount of events lined up for the next upcoming days! Tonight at 7 pm, the Sligo Church Atrium is hosting the Faculty and Staff Talent Show, where you will get to meet some of our leading forces at WAU, while they showcase some of their amazing talents. This weekend, we will be holding several events, starting on Friday at 7 pm with the New Students Consecration Service at Sligo SDA Church. On Saturday at 11:30 am, we invite you to worship with us at our University Church Service on the WAU Commons, with other activities to be announced for the afternoon.
Next week on Monday, August 30, we will have our annual Back to School Bash ‘New Beginnings’ where there will be an abundance of fun games and activities and lots of delicious food! And on Wednesday, September 1, directly following our Opening Convocation ceremony at 11:15 am, the Student Activities Fair will start, where you will have the chance to meet all of our clubs, student unions, and your Student Association leaders. A lot of exciting events are in store and we hope to see you there!
