Washington Adventist University to Participate in Giving Tuesday on December 1

Takoma Park, MD (November 16, 2015) This year, for the first time, Washington Adventist University (WAU) is participating in Giving Tuesday on December 1.  This international day of giving harnesses the potential of social media and the generosity of people around the world to bring about real change in their communities. Our WAU community; alumni, faculty and staff, students and friends are encouraged to make a gift to support the mission and vision of the university.

The WAU goal for this year’s Giving Tuesday is to raise $5,000 in funds in a 24-hour period, from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. (EST) on December 1, 2015. Gifts can support any club, program or department on campus. All donations – whether  $1,000, $100, $10, or even $1 — will make a lasting impact on the university and its students.

“Together, let’s take the opportunity on December 1 to invest in the future of our university. Tell your friends, tell your family, tell your neighbors that they can help make a difference. ” said Ellie Barker, Director of Alumni Relations. “Investing in the future of our university through giving helps us continue to serve our students as the gateway to service. We are engaging minds and transforming lives.”
