Alumni Association’s Annual Ice Cream Social Included Preview of Construction Plans for the Gail S. and Bruce E. Boyer Health Professions and Wellness Center

Takoma Park, Md. (July 28, 2016) The Washington Adventist University Alumni Association hosted its third annual Ice Cream Social on Sunday, July 24, in the dining hall. The event featured a variety of ice cream flavors and toppings, prize giveaways, and fun sing-a-longs with a band comprised of current WAU students and alumni.

Throughout the social, alumni were given a chance to meet the association leadership, university administration and alumni relations staff. They were also given an opportunity to see plans for the Gail S. and Bruce E. Boyer Health Professions and Wellness Center and to sort through old school photos. Several prizes were given out and Donald Russell, graduate of the class of 1954, was awarded for being a member of the oldest class present.

“The Alumni Association seeks to keep alumni connected with their alma mater through networking opportunities, fundraising initiatives and fun gatherings here on campus,” said Ellie Barker, Director of Advancement and University Relations.

The next alumni event will take place on Thursday, August 4, at the 2016 ASI International Convention in Phoenix, Arizona. President Weymouth Spence and the Office of Alumni Relations invites WAU alumni to join them for dinner at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Phoenix. Register for the dinner by calling 301-891-4125 or by going online.
