Accounting Minor

Accounting Minor
The accounting minor at Washington Adventist University offers students the opportunity to gain significant expertise in accounting while pursuing their major studies. By choosing this minor, students can develop a strong foundation in accounting principles and practices without completing the full requirements of a major. The minor is specifically designed for business administration majors who wish to enhance their understanding of accounting. With just six additional credit hours beyond the minimum requirements, students can broaden their skill set and expand their career options.
Management Minor
We have tailored this specialized minor for students who envision applying their major within a business context as managers rather than owners. It will equip them with the essential skills necessary for effective management roles. However, we highly recommend students with a strong inclination towards a career in management to pursue a second major in business. A second major in business will provide them with a comprehensive foundation and a deeper understanding of the principles and strategies crucial for successful management careers.
Marketing Minor
At Washington Adventist University, we have designed the marketing minor to provide students with a strong foundation in marketing, complementing their primary field of study, whether it falls under business or a non-business discipline. This minor specifically tailors to enhance students’ knowledge and skills in marketing strategies and principles. However, please be aware that business administration majors with a focus on marketing are not eligible for the marketing minor. If you aspire to develop expertise in marketing and expand your career prospects, we encourage you to consider pursuing the marketing minor alongside your chosen major.
Admission
- Complete the application form.
- Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher from a regionally accredited undergraduate program. Those with GPAs between 2.0 and 2.49 are also eligible.
- Successfully pass the General Education Development (GED) test with a minimum score of 410 on each of the four subject exams, or provide equivalent scores from other GED versions, to be eligible for the scholarship.
- For students who have not graduated from or completed an accredited home-school program as mentioned in step #1, there are certain additional documents that must be submitted along with the complete application packet. These documents include:
- GED test scores, with a minimum score of 410 on each of the four subject exams or equivalent scores on other GED versions.
- Minimum ACT verbal score of 17 or SAT composite score of 800 (verbal and math).
Are you an International Student?
- Submit your transcript through the website https://www.wes.org/.
- If English is not your primary language, provide your TOEFL , IELTS, Duolingo scores.
- Obtain letters of recommendation.
- Prepare and submit the necessary financial documents.
