Lois Peters is a successful entrepreneur with interests in the healthcare sector. She completed most of her high school years at West Indies College (now Victor Dixon High School) in Mandeville, Jamaica, before immigrating to the U.S, where she graduated from the Jeremiah E. Burke high school in Boston. She later went on to pursue an associate degree in nursing at Atlantic Union College. She has since been awarded an honorary doctorate from Atlantic Union College. 

An activist and philanthropist, Lois recently received the 2010 WAU Adrian T. Westney Award for Excellence in Community Service, from WAU, which she shares with husband, Leroy. The award recognizes people who understand the importance of contributing to education, pastoral ministry, pastoral care, religious liberty, service, administration, leadership and information dissemination. 

Peters served on the board of Atlantic Union College from 1989 to 2010, and has been a member of the board of Oakwood College from 1996 to the present.Â
