Anna H. Wang led a remarkable life of service, both in nursing and health care administration. Her great love was music and education. Although her early life precluded the opportunity to study music, she insisted that music play a vital part in her children’s lives. At the age of 60, she began studying the violin herself and soon played along with her grandchildren.
The Anna H. Wang Presidential Concert Series honors this remarkable women who passed away on November 25, 2016 at the age of 105. Past artists of this series include pianist Awadagin Pratt, violinist Charles Castleman, the Parker String Quartet, 2018 Metropolitan Opera Audition winner Madison Leonard, Eroica Trio, 2019 Metropolitan Opera Audition winner William Guanbo Su, and tenor Lawrence Brownlee.
True to the spirit of Anna Wang’s love of music and education, each concert engagement includes a free masterclass where selected WAU music students will get to work with the guest artists.
