 The following processes are in effect to ensure a safe and contactless environment for our students and guests in the Office of Student Financial Services:

General Financial Aid Questions

New and returning students may contact our office with questions by emailing finaid@wau.edu, calling 301.891.4005, or booking an appointment at https://waufinanicalaid.setmore.com. Thank you for your patience when calling or emailing. Call and email volumes are high due to assisting students and families virtually. You are important to us, and we will do our very best to respond within 24 hours.

Financial Aid Forms and Documents

All forms are available online at https://www.wau.edu/admissions-aid/financial-aid/important-information/important-documents/. The forms are in a writable pdf format, allowing users to fill out and sign their documents electronically.

Financial Aid Pre-Clearance Appointments 

Appointment times are Monday through Thursday 9 am to 4:30 pm, and Friday 9 am to 11:30 am.

Appointments should be scheduled in the form of a phone conference, Zoom meeting, or Google Meet. Visit https://waufinancialaid.setmore.com/ to schedule a meeting with a financial aid advisor. Contact 301.891.4005 if you need assistance scheduling an appointment.

New first-year and new transfer students must schedule an appointment to complete financial aid pre-clearance before moving on to financial clearance with Student Accounts.

A returning student is not required to complete financial aid pre-clearance and can proceed directly to Student Accounts for financial clearance if they:

      • have been awarded
      • have submitted all financial aid documents (verification, etc.) as requested by Student Financial Services
      • do not have a financial aid hold on your account
      • do not need to apply for additional aid such as a Direct Parent PLUS Loan or an Alternative Loan
      • do not have any questions about your financial aid package

Schedule an appointment if you have questions, are ready for financial aid pre-clearance, need remote help completing the FAFSA form, Master Promissory Note (MPN), Entrance Counseling, or Parent PLUS Loan via phone conference, Zoom meeting, or Google Meet. Both Zoom and Google Meet allow remote collaboration in real-time through the screen sharing feature (we can watch you complete your FAFSA, or other forms, and assist you where needed).
