At the WAU Honors College, Washington, DC is out Gateway to the World!
Gateway DC is a program designed to take advantage of the opportunities that exist in our Nation’s Capital. Through our Global Engagement Center we organize trips and activities for students to engage with global leaders at places like the Brookings Institution, the Atlantic Council, the Carnegie Institute for Global Peace, the National Institutes of Health, the World Bank and IMF, numerous national embassies, and more. Gateway DC activities are held multiple times each month.
VALUE-ADDED EDUCATION
Like most universities, we are proud of our professors and our curriculum. But unlike a lot of universities, our students have access to the rich resources that come from being just minutes from the heart of Washington, D.C. This gives them a ‘value-added’ component to their education that just isn’t available at very many schools. For example:
- pre-med students can attend events at the National Institutes of Health, the premier medical research organization in the country;
- pre-law students can attend cases at the Supreme Court and see first-hand;
- history and political studies students can attend events with some of the most important global world leaders
- business students can attend events at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce or at global economic
