President Spence welcomes Provost: Dr. Susan Hornshaw
I am confident that Dr. Hornshaw’s commitment to faith-based education and academic excellence, her proven innovative problem-solving, and her leadership in urban campus-community engagement will provide a solid foundation for guiding the University in the 21st Century. I look forward to working with her in building both the academic departments and the University.
Please join me in welcoming Provost Hornshaw to the campus of Washington Adventist University on June 16.
I would also like to use this opportunity to thank the members of the Provost Search Committee (Cathi Wilson, Gina Brown, Gaspar Colón, Davenia Lea, Deborah Brown, Emile John, Fitzroy Thomas, Grant Leitma, Lee Wisel, Renee Winkfield, Ramone Griffith, and Estevanny Jimenez). Your time and contributions resulted in a fair, effective, and efficient process. It is important also to mention the participation and input from faculty, staff, and students. Your input played a major role in the final selection. Two candidates were selected for onsite interviews. The final selection was a difficult one. Thank you for all your prayers and support for the continued growth and development of academic administration.
I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Ralph Johnson for his role in providing academic leadership during the search process.
Weymouth Spence, President
