Raised in California, Robin Armstrong completed both a Bachelor of Music and Master of Arts from California State University at Long Beach before earning a doctorate at The University of Michigan.    Dr. Armstrong taught at McDaniel College in Maryland from 1995-2020 and currently teaches Music History and Literature courses at Carroll Community College as well as Washington Adventist University.   Armstrong’s courses explore many different types of music from traditional music of the Navajo Nation to contemporary music in Senegal, all revolving around the question “Why does this song sound like this?”
