Senior Vice President Joins Administrative Team
A native Floridian, Mr. Anderson attended Andrews University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) along with a Master of General Administration in Healthcare and Organization Assessment/Management. He also earned a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University.
After completing more than eight years of service in the United States Army, Mr. Anderson began federal civil service in 1985 at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC. In 1987, he moved into the private sector as an Assistant Vice President at Hadley Memorial Hospital in the District, then continued as a Medicare Contract Compliance Officer/Inspector at Health Care Financing Administration, and later as a Health Policy Analyst at the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research.
In 1992, Anderson moved to the Health Resources and Services Administration as Deputy Branch Chief and Acting Branch Chief for the Loan Repayment Programs Branch and the Scholarship Programs Branch, and was later selected as Director, Division of Management Services at the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Center for Biologics Evaluations and Research. He later became a Senior Resources Management Advisor and Project Director. In 2009, Anderson retired as Director of the Business Planning Architecture Office.
Anderson is currently Senior Administrator for an Aeromedical Staging Squadron in the U.S. Air Force Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel, and was an adjunct professor for the School of Graduate and Professional Studies here at Washington Adventist University.
Anderson is married to Ruby Ottley, a WAU graduate, and the couple have three children. They are active members of the Emmanuel Brinklow Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Ashton, Maryland.
