WAU Basketball Seasons Conclude at CAC Tournament: Several Players Earn All-Conference Honors

TAKOMA PARK, MD –  The Washington Adventist University (WAU) men’s and women’s basketball teams wrapped up their seasons at the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Tournament, marking the end of a hard-fought campaign for both programs. Despite their efforts, neither team advanced past the tournament semifinal rounds, officially closing the 2024-2025 season.

Throughout the season, both teams showcased resilience, determination, and a commitment to excellence, leading to several standout performances. Their efforts did not go unnoticed, as multiple WAU players were honored with CAC All-Conference Awards for their contributions on the court.

All-Conference Honors

• CAC All-Tournament Team: Isabela Lujan-Gonzales
• First-Team All-Conference: Rande Harper, Isabela Lujan-Gonzales, and Amani Ball
• Second-Team All-Conference: Chase Cook, Bethany Fowler, Emanuel Hylton
• Newcomer of the Year: Rande Harper
• Co-Defensive Player of the Year: Bethany Fowler and Rande Harper
• Coach of the Year: Jerry McFarland
• Champion of Character Award: Isabela Lujan-Gonzales and Emanuel Hylton

The Champion of Character Award recognizes a student-athlete who embodies sportsmanship, integrity, and leadership both on and off the court. It reflects WAU’s commitment to holistic development.

While the tournament did not end in a championship, the WAU Shock teams demonstrated remarkable growth and perseverance, setting the foundation for the future. As they transition into the offseason, both programs will look to build upon this year’s lessons and return stronger for the next campaign.
