WAU Dedication Sabbath

Washington Adventist University invites Board members, Faculty, and Staff to attend WAU Dedication Sabbath beginning this weekend, September 24, 2011 at Sligo Church.  This occasion is a time for the WAU leadership community to convene for corporate worship, fellowship, and a campus tour.

Dedication Sabbath will begin at 11:15am with worship service. Dave Weigley, Chair of the Board of Trustees at WAU will be the speaker for church service.  Weigley also serves as president of the Columbia Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. His leadership experience has previously included presidencies with two other SDA Conferences (Potomac and Washington) and a variety of administrative and pastoral posts. Weigley attended Washington Adventist University before graduating from Southern Adventist University in1977. Currently he is a candidate for Ph.D in Leadership from Andrews University.

Following worship service lunch will be provided for Board members, Faculty, Staff, and their families in WAU Dining Services.  Vice President of Advancement Bruce Peifer will lead a campus tour following the luncheon. Other activities for the day will include a presentation on Campus Ministries by Vice President of Ministry Baraka Muganda. Dedication Sabbath will conclude at Takoma Academy (8120 Carroll Ave., Takoma Park, MD) with a vespers service by WGTS-FM radio station.
