Professor Charlene McDaniel brings more than 25 years of experience as a music educator in the Baltimore and Howard County Public School systems. She has a Master of Music Education degree from Ithaca College and a Bachelor of Music Education and Performance Certificate in Clarinet from the Peabody Conservatory of Music. Currently, she is the Director of Bands and Orchestras at Guilford Elementary School where she also directs the jazz band, choir chimes, and collaborates with the chorus. At Washington Adventist University, she teaches Secondary Woodwinds Methods, Music for the Elementary School Specialist, and advises Music Education majors. She is an active freelance musician in the DC area as a singer, flautist, clarinetist, saxophonist, and oboist. She is married and has a son named Kennedy.
