The following is a timeline of events on the day of Commencement. Please come on time. These timelines and instructions may change, so be sure to review them regularly.

Tickets are not needed for Commencement Weekend. Graduates may bring as many guests as possible. There will be a designated seating area for guests.

PARKING – There will be designated locations for any family and friends.
RESTROOMS – Located in in front lower level and the Atrium of Sligo SDA ChurchÂ
HANDICAPPED accessible bathrooms are located in the Atrium and the Lower Level of Sligo Church (There is an elevator on the main floor.)
IN CASE OF RAIN – Please ensure that you have an umbrella with you.
PHOTOGRAPHY – There is an official photographer taking pictures of each graduate. Please remain in your seats
SEATING – There will be a designated seating area for guests.
TICKETS – No tickets are required.
CHEERING – While we know that this is a joyous occasion, we ask that you please refrain from excessive, loud or extensive cheering or any behavior that is not in keeping with the decorum befitting the sanctuary
BE MINDFUL OF OTHERS – We welcome your celebration of your loved ones accomplishments. Please be aware that others would like to hear their loved ones name being read, so we encourage you to time your celebration accordingly in order to respect the family and friends of other graduates.
ITEMS NOT ALLOWED – Noise Makers, Balloons, and Confetti are NOT ALLOWED in the sanctuary.
RESERVED SEATING – will be released 15 minutes before the ceremony begins.

Important Items to Remember
PARKING – All graduates must park in the Flower/Carroll Ave. Parking lot. Any family members that will be attending the ceremony will park at designated locations.
GRADUATE STUDENTS (Masters Degrees) will be hooded. Please make sure that your hood is draped over your left arm upon entering the stage. The velvet needs to be by your wrist.
PUBLIC RESTROOMS – Handicapped accessible bathrooms are located in the Atrium and Lower Level of Sligo Church (There is an elevator on the main floor.)
IN CASE OF RAIN, please ensure that you have an umbrella with you
 ATTIRE: Regalia must be worn at all commencement weekend ceremonies. Please wear comfortable shoes. You may be standing for long periods. So ladies, we implore you to wear flatter shoes and not heels.
PHOTOGRAPHY: PHOTOS: 2 – 5X7s of your photo with the President and 1 – 8×10 of your Class Photo will be sent to your address a few weeks after Commencement. Any questions regarding these photos can be directed to the Provost Office
