Biography:
Emma graduated with honors and Summa Cum Laude from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Music Therapy and two minors in Psychology and Disability Education. While attending SRU she made Dean’s List each year and was awarded the University’s Sue Shuttleworth Scholarship and regional music therapy awards such as the Jenny Shin Internship Scholarship. Emma completed her music therapy internship at Opportunities for Positive Growth in Fishers, IN. Upon completion of her internship Emma earned her graduate degree in Music Therapy from the University of Kentucky, where she was also the music therapy department Graduate Assistant. While at UK Emma completed resesarch in music therapy for displaced children and the experiences of disabled music therapists in the music therapy field. Along with being the clinical coordinator at Washington Adventist University Emma also works as a music therapist for the Sonatina Center. Her clinical areas of expertise include early childhood/development, disabled adults, and adolescent/adult mental health. Emma is also the current president-elect for the Maryland Association of Music Therapists.
