Finals: Peace Through Prayer

President Spence and Provost Kisunzu Zoom Prayer for Students During Finals Week. On Monday morning, December 14, 2020, Washington Adventist University President Weymouth Spence and Provost Cheryl Kisunzu met with students to have a special prayer during Finals Week.

Students from many majors and backgrounds joined the prayer and expressed their needs during the Zoom call. Many of the students asked for prayer for their academic studies but also financial needs. The pandemic played a large part in requests as some are traveling and looking for support for overseas issues. Students also expressed the need for prayer for their professors and praised their teachers as they endured through the difficult semester.

Provost Cheryl Kisunzu shared advice and support during the call. President Spence recounted his experience as a young student from Jamaica and leaning on God as he faced financial and societal challenges in his early days.

During the event, the President said, “Now that you’ve prayed, you should walk into your test with confidence…knowing that God will see you through.”

We know that God will always be there for WAU and its community of students. As we come to the holidays, let us remember the reason for the season. Look to God for guidance this year and the year to come.
