HEAD COACH BEN JOHNSON MOVES ON FROM WAU AFTER A DISTINGUISHED CAREER

The longest tenured coach in Washington Adventist University (WAU) Athletics history has decided to move on from the university to pursue new coaching opportunities. Head Coach Ben Johnson announced his resignation as the Head Acro-Airs & Volleyball Coach on Monday, May 1, 2023.

A proud WAU alumnus, Coach Johnson has been connected with the University since his 1998 graduation. He has served in the capacity of Head Coach for both programs for over a decade, leading WAU’s Acro-Airs to nationwide recognition as they performed across the country at NBA halftime shows, academies, and so many other events. The Acro-Airs rose to national prominence in large part due to Coach Johnson’s leadership. He will be missed.

WAU commends Coach Johnson for his commitment & dedication to the University for the past 24 years and wishes him and his family all the best as they embark on new endeavors.

A national search will begin immediately for his replacement
