Increase Your Organization’s Visibility with 21st Century Media; Learn “The Art of Shining” to Successfully Compete for Business

Takoma Park, MD (June 29, 2015) Washington Adventist University (WAU) is offering a three-session evening course July 28-30 on how to increase the visibility of businesses and non-profits, using 21st century media. “The Art of Shining” will be taught by Kinetics Marketing and Communications Managing Director Michael Tinati and Director of Media Relations and Social Media Donna Bigler. With substantial expertise in the fields of advertising, marketing, media relations, and social media, Tinati and Bigler will teach participants how to successfully communicate with and engage various audiences. They will provide participants with the knowledge and tools needed to compete for attention in today’s competitive local marketplace, using both paid and earned media and effective communications techniques.
Michael Tinati has extensive experience in advertising and marketing, having worked with such companies as Procter & Gamble, Citibank, Sprint/Nextel, GE and Exxon/Mobil, where he helped launch more than 40 new products and services and was responsible for the re-staging of several venerable brands in the financial services, education and healthcare industries.
Donna Bigler is skilled in public sector communications, having managed the Montgomery County government Office of Public Information for more than 20 years, where she handled media relations, social media, crisis communications, internal communications, cable television programming and website development.
The cost for the non-credit course is $300, and it will be taught from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Fireside Room on the lobby level of Wilkinson Hall, located next to the ball field at the corner of Flower Avenue and Division Street. A certificate of completion will be provided to participants at the conclusion of the three sessions.
Free parking is available directly behind the building off Greenwood Avenue, and across the street from the Sligo Seventh-day Adventist Church at the corner of Flower and Carroll avenues. A bus stop and BikeShare station are conveniently located in front of Wilkinson Hall. The Takoma Metro station is 1.5 miles away.
