Biography
Teaching in the Department of Biology and Chemistry, Dr. Villanueva uses a combination of lecture and class activities. Students in her classes may find themselves keeping a blog, writing a research paper, designing and conducting their own research experiments, creating a podcast, solving real-world case studies, or completing other activities in order to learn the appropriate science content. Along with her colleagues in the department, Dr. Villanueva also advises biology majors and students in the pre-professional programs, such as pre-medicine and pre-dentistry.
Research and Professional Activities
Dr. Villanueva’s research interests include costimulatory molecules and the development of memory immune responses.
