Biography:
I was born and raised here in Silver Spring, Maryland. After completing my education at Spencerville Adventist Academy, I took the journey to Tennessee to pursue my dream of becoming a nurse. I began my career in Southern California where I became a Labor and Delivery nurse and fell in love with women and children’s health. I eventually moved back to Maryland in 2010 and continued my path in Labor and Delivery nursing, before I started travel nursing for about 8 years. I traveled from Alaska to Maine, and a few other stops along the way. During my travels I started my education again and felt the need and passion to teach. I love caring for my patients and seeing the joy in each families eyes when they hold their newborn. In my leisure time, I like reading, knitting, and playing with my fur babies.
Professional Activites:
Currently, I am working as full-time faculty in the department of nursing since 2020. I teach both in the classroom and clinical setting. The courses taught include (NURS 222) Professional Nursing Foundation’s and (NURS 378) Maternal Child and Women’s Health Nursing, along with Clinical and Simulations for NURS 378. I enjoy sharing my passion for nursing with my students. My next goal in my career path is start a DNP program.
