Washington Adventist University Basketball Teams Qualify for CAC Championships

TAKOMA PARK, Md. — Washington Adventist University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams have earned spots in the Continental Athletic Conference Championship tournaments, scheduled for Feb. 25 to March 2 at Haskell Indian Nations University.

In the first round, the WAU women’s team will face Florida National University on Thursday, Feb. 27, while the men’s team takes on Spartanburg Methodist College on Friday, Feb. 28. The second round is slated for Saturday night, with championship games on Sunday.

This achievement is a testament to the hard work, resilience and dedication of our student-athletes, as well as the unwavering support from our coaches, staff and community. Our teams have set a high standard both on and off the court, and we look forward to watching them showcase their talent on the national stage at Haskell Indian Nations University. The CAC announced the final seeding for the women’s tournament as follows: Northern New Mexico College; Haskell Indian Nations University; Washington Adventist University (15-10, 7-1 conference record); Carolina University; Spartanburg Methodist College; and Florida National University.

For the men’s tournament, seeding was finalized as: Florida College; Arkansas Baptist College; Washington Adventist University (10-12, 6-2 conference record); Fisher College; Northern New Mexico College; Spartanburg Methodist College; Haskell Indian Nations University; and Carolina University.

Tournament schedules and game times will be posted on the CAC website at continentalathletics.com.

CAC Commissioner Meg Schebler congratulated all teams on their qualification. “I look forward to seeing all of you next week. Safe travels to Lawrence, Kansas,” Schebler said.
