Washington Adventist University Business Students Attended Recent Norman Augustine Presentation at Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce

Takoma Park, Md. (October 11, 2016) Washington Adventist University (WAU) business students attended a recent Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) meeting at the invitation of WAU President Weymouth Spence, Ed.D., RT, who serves on the MCCC Board of Directors. The students included members of the university’s top-ranked Enactus business team and those earning their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.

The meeting featured a presentation by Norman R. Augustine, former chairman and CEO of Lockheed Martin. He spoke about the world economy and how the State of Maryland and Montgomery County fit in. WAU students were given the opportunity to ask questions and gather additional information at the end of the presentation.

“I think it was very beneficial to have our students sit in on this presentation, as it promoted a linkage between classroom delivery of content and real world occurrences,” said WAU Business and Communication Department Chair Andrea Baldwin.

“It felt good to be exposed to experienced business people,” said MBA student Paulo Acosta.

Also in attendance at the MCCC presentation were WAU Vice President of Financial Administration Patrick Farley and Professor of Business Jude Edwards.
