Washington Adventist University to Host February 23 Career, Internship and Graduate School Fair
Takoma Park, Md. (January 25, 2017) Washington Adventist University (WAU) is hosting a Career, Internship and Graduate School Fair on Thursday, February 23, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is open to students seeking jobs and internships, as well as to individuals in the community. The fair will be held on campus in Wilkinson Hall, 7600 Flower Avenue in Takoma Park, Maryland.
The Career, Internship and Graduate School Fair will match job seekers with employers who have job vacancies and are looking to hire, and will provide information about career-boosting graduate school programs. It is currently the only such event in Takoma Park. Faculty and staff will be on hand to discuss the university’s nine accelerated evening degree programs, and a variety of employers will be participating, seeking to fill positions in such fields as health care, hospitality, banking and insurance.
Past job fairs have featured more than 30 employers. In some cases, jobs and internships have been offered before the end of the day.
“With a diverse and outstanding student body that includes some excellent workers, we believe that our Career, Internship and Graduate School Fair has much to offer local employers,” said Fitzroy Thomas, Associate Dean, Washington Adventist University Center for Learning Resources.
Employers interested in participating in the fair should contact Fitzroy Thomas at 301-891-4115 or email him at fthomas@wau.edu. A registration form for employers is attached.
Washington Adventist University is located near the intersection of Flower and Carroll Avenues, about 1.5 miles from the Takoma Metro. There is both a bus stop and a BikeShare station in front of Wilkinson Hall, and free parking is located both in front of the building and behind it (off Greenwood Avenue).
