Washington Adventist University to Host Homecoming Weekend November 4-5, 2016
Takoma Park, Md. (October 24, 2016) Washington Adventist University’s second annual Fall Homecoming Weekend is Friday, November 4 through Saturday, November 5, 2016. Alumni and friends are invited to join current students for a weekend of fun, culminating with the opening of the Washington Adventist University (WAU) 2016-2017 Basketball Season.
The weekend will feature service projects, worship services, and a recognition ceremony for the 25th Anniversary of the first WAU men’s basketball team to make it to the NAIA national championship.
The homecoming basketball games against Oakwood University will be held on Saturday, November 5. The WAU Lady Shock women’s team will play against the Lady Ambassadors team from Oakwood University at 7:30 p.m., and the WAU Shock men’s team will play against the Oakwood Ambassadors team at 9:30 p.m. The Oakwood men’s team is currently the defending USCAA Men’s Division I Basketball national champion team. The games will be played at the Takoma Academy Gymnasium, located at 8120 Carroll Avenue, Takoma Park, MD 20912.
