Washington Adventist University to Host Free Concert by Zephyros Winds in Takoma Park
Takoma Park, Md. (October 21, 2016) The Washington Adventist University (WAU) Music Department is hosting a concert by Zephyros Winds on Monday, October 24 at 11:15 a.m. The concert will be held on campus at the Leroy and Lois Peters Music Center (Bld. 11 on the campus map), located off Greenwood Avenue in Takoma Park, behind the Sligo Seventh-day Adventist Church. The concert is free and open to the public.
WAU Associate Professor of Music Daniel Lau, DMA, will join Zephyros Winds during the concert, which will feature “Knoxville: Summer of 1915” by Samuel Barber.
Zephyros Winds is a chamber ensemble that is now in its 19th season. The five-member group has performed at a variety of prestigious concert venues, including Carnegie’s Weill Hall, The Library of Congress, Lincoln Center, Wolf Trap, Dumbarton Oaks, The Baryshnikov Art Center in New York City, and Da Camera Society in Los Angeles.

Washington Adventist University is Montgomery County’s only four-year private college.
