Takoma Park, MD (March 24, 2016) Janette Neufville, Washington Adventist University’s Chief Operations and Compliance Officer, is now an ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (ASQCMQ/OE). Awarded by the Board of ASQ (American Society for Quality), the certification represents her proficiency in and understanding of quality management principles and practices.
Neufville states that she is looking forward to applying these aspects of the certification in her new role; leadership, strategic planning, quality control and management, which includes fiscal, project, human resources and customer management.
An individual is qualified to take the ASQ certification exam only when they have at least ten years work experience as a professional who leads and champions organizational improvement.
“Earning an ASQ certification is more than a great accomplishment – it’s a formal recognition of professionals that they have demonstrated an understanding of and commitment to quality practices in their field,” said ASQ Chair Cecilia Kimberlin. “This distinction represents an investment in one’s future and provides a competitive advantage to those who earn ASQ certifications.”
ASQ is a global community of people who are dedicated to quality and share the ideals of making the world better. The organization is headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Members reside in 150 countries, with national service centers in China, India, Mexico and a regional service center in the United Arab Emirates.
Neufville’s certification further strengthens the culture of excellence that is building at Washington Adventist University, which is committed to becoming one of the premier small universities in the mid-Atlantic region.
The university’s Vision 2020 Plan, which was rolled out in 2009, has guided a wide variety of improvements at the university – ranging from academic programs to the physical campus.
