WAU Ensembles Join Forces in “Voices United” Concert at Strathmore

TAKOMA PARK, Md. (April 6, 2025) – The New England Youth Ensemble, Columbia Collegiate Chorale, and Pro Musica from Washington Adventist University took the stage at the Music Center at Strathmore on Sunday for a powerful collaborative concert titled Voices United: A Celebration of Global Harmony.
The event featured more than 100 musicians and WAU ensembles were joined by the Strathmore Youth Chorus and George Mason University Chorale. The concert opened with the New England Youth Ensemble’s rendition of Felix Mendelssohn’s Die Hebrides overture. The performance continued with a moving presentation of John Rutter’s Mass of the Children, featuring all participating ensembles combined.
“This concert was a true celebration of musical unity and collaboration,” said Dr. Brian Liu, co-director of the New England Youth Ensemble and Assistant Professor of Music.
The performance was part of the university’s ongoing commitment to excellence in the arts and community engagement through music.
