WAU Music Department to Present Annual Christmas Concert on Dec. 5

TAKOMA PARK, Md. — Washington Adventist University’s Music Department will usher in the holiday season with its Annual Christmas Concert on Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, presenting an evening of sacred, classical and seasonal works designed to uplift and inspire.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at Sligo Seventh-day Adventist Church and will feature performances by the New England Youth Ensemble, the Columbia Collegiate Chorale and Pro Musica.
A highlight of this year’s program includes Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto, performed by student soloist Gabriella Apola. The program will also include John Rutter’s celebrated Gloria, known for its vibrant rhythms and powerful choral writing. Audience members will have the opportunity to join in singing beloved Christmas carols, continuing a tradition that brings students, families and community members together in worship and celebration.
The annual concert remains one of WAU’s signature music events, reflecting the department’s excellence in performance and its commitment to creating enriching cultural experiences for the region.
